Terms of Service
Basic terms for using the 2FA Authenticator website and local TOTP generator
2026/06/02
Introduction
These Terms of Service govern your use of the 2FA Authenticator website and its features, including its core browser-based TOTP generator and any optional account, payment, newsletter, or support features made available on the site.
By using the website, you agree to these Terms.
Service Description
2FA Authenticator provides a browser-based TOTP tool that can generate one-time
codes from a Base32 secret or otpauth:// setup data. This website is intended
to process and store those TOTP entries locally in your browser.
Other sections of the website may include documentation, blog content, account features, billing flows, or support/contact workflows.
Local TOTP Tool Disclaimer
The TOTP tool on this website is provided for convenience. You are responsible for:
- Entering the correct secret or importing the correct QR code
- Keeping your own device and browser profile secure
- Maintaining your own backups or recovery methods for important 2FA accounts
- Verifying that a generated code is being used with the correct account
We do not guarantee that every imported secret, issuer label, device clock, or third-party login flow will behave exactly as you expect.
No Custody of Your TOTP Secrets
For the TOTP generator on this website, 2FA Authenticator is not intended to act as a custodial vault for your secrets. If you save TOTP entries in the workbench, they are meant to remain in your current browser storage.
If you clear your browser storage, switch devices, or lose access to that browser profile, your locally saved entries may be lost.
Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Use the website for unlawful, fraudulent, or abusive activity
- Attempt to interfere with, disable, or gain unauthorized access to the site, server, accounts, or related systems
- Upload or submit harmful code, malicious payloads, or abusive automated traffic
- Misrepresent your identity or payment information when using optional account or billing features
Accounts and Paid Features
If you choose to create an account, subscribe, or make a purchase through any optional feature on the site, you are responsible for providing accurate information and keeping your account credentials secure.
Paid purchases, credits, subscriptions, and billing features are governed by the checkout terms, billing flow, and applicable payment provider requirements shown at the time of purchase.
Availability
We may change, suspend, or remove any part of the website at any time, including the TOTP tool and optional features, with or without notice.
We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability or that the website will always be error-free.
Intellectual Property
The website, its design, code, branding, documentation, and published content are owned by 2FA Authenticator or its licensors and are protected by applicable law.
These Terms do not grant you ownership of the website or permission to copy, resell, or redistribute the service except as allowed by law or by our written permission.
Disclaimer of Warranties
The website is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, 2FA Authenticator will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for loss of data, profits, access, or goodwill arising from your use of the website.
